Your Faith, Your Health, Your Choice
With the FaithHealth Vaccine Initiative
Funded by the CDC Foundation, the FaithHealth Vaccine Initiative at the Institute for Spirituality and Health bridges faith and health by bringing diverse faith leaders together to learn about vaccines, engage in open dialogue to share experiences, and plan and implement vaccination-related activities for their communities.
Our mission is to reduce vaccine inequity by: improving the understanding of Covid-19, influenza and and other adult vaccine preventable diseases. In addition to bringing vaccine providers into the community.
Informational/ Educational event
We have held or supported informational events ranging from “town-hall” style Q&A sessions, to panel discussions, to seminars, and even a “reflecting on COVID” event in collaboration with a local faith-based arts institution. We co-create and support these kinds of events, bringing messaging, resources, and information to our target populations.
Our team will pair faith leaders with local public health officials and clinical representatives to offer effective and evidence-based program information.
Typically, we pair informational events with vaccine pop-up events, using the momentum gained from the former to influence the latter.
Vaccine clinics
We support the establishment of vaccination sites at the actual facilities of faith communities (parking lot, fellowship hall, gymnasium, auditorium, etc.) AND at other sites deemed appropriate by our faith community partners.
These vaccination sites will be staffed and supported by public health and medical care partners and will include the deployment of mobile vaccination units.
Vaccine Providers
How to bring vaccine events to your community!
Talk with your church leadership about what are the best days and format to have informational event and clinic. Also discuss what vaccine you would like to provide.
Currently we have all COVID shots and flu shots but if there is a need for additional vaccine we can explore those options. But are exploring incorporating adult vaccine into our services.
Once you have began those conversation within your leadership team, we begin taking action steps to secure the date, location and advertising plans to ensure a succeful event.
The further in advance we submit dates to the providers the more likely we are to get all the dates we are requesting and the longer we have to advortise the event to your surrounding communities.
When the event has been confirmed, flyers will be created to help you share the event to your community!
