Joy Ashby Cornthwaite, MS RD LD CDCES, is a registered dietitian and a certified diabetes care and education specialist.
She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition at Florida State University and her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from Rice University.
During her time as a core team member of the inaugural group of Canyon Ranch Institute’s Savannah Life Enhancement Program, she was able to grow and develop her practice philosophy towards one of integrative wellness care that focuses on empowering people. This is a philosophy that allows her to be a champion and advocate for her clients as they learn to embrace healthy behaviors and lifestyle changes through self care and knowledge.
She is passionate about diabetes self management education and supporting those living with diabetes in all aspects of their journey. Her work includes the development and application of programs in adult obesity, childhood obesity, and diabetes self-management.
Joy is passionate about her children, family and nutrition education. She is a self-proclaimed foodie and enjoys the cultural diversity and dialogue that food encourages between people. She sees her role as a diabetes care and education specialist as an opportunity to empower patients and support them as they embrace a life of wellness and health.
